The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the morning brightness, 1 And by the Night when it is still,- 2 Your Lord (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) has neither forsaken you nor hated you. 3 What is to come is better for you than what has gone before; 4 And indeed, in time will thy Sustainer grant thee [what thy heart desires,] and thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and then gave you shelter? 6 Did He not find thee wandering and direct (thee)? 7 Did He not find thee destitute and enrich (thee)? 8 Therefore do not oppress the orphan. 9 and chide not him who asks, 10 And keep recounting the favours of your Lord. 11
