Believers, do not consume usury, doubled and redoubled, and fear Allah, in order that you shall prosper. 130 Guard yourselves against the Fire prepared for unbelievers. 131 And obey Allah and the Messenger; that ye may obtain mercy. 132 ۞ And vie with each other in hastening to obtain forgiveness from your Lord and toward the Garden whereof the width equalleth the heavens and the earth, gotten ready for the God-fearing 133 for those who spend, both in prosperity and adversity, who restrain their anger and are forgiving towards their fellow men -- God loves those who do good works. 134 And who, when they have committed an indecency or have wronged their souls, remember God and pray that their sins be forgiven, (for who but God can forgive sins?) and do not knowingly persist in their misdeeds, 135 their recompense is forgiveness from their Lord, and Gardens with rivers flowing through them, where they will abide forever. How excellent will be the reward of those who do good works. 136 There are many examples [of the communities] that have passed away before you: travel through the land, and see what was the end of those who rejected the Truth. 137 This is a plain exposition for men, and a guidance and admonition for the Godfearing. 138 So do not become weak (against your enemy), nor be sad, and you will be superior (in victory) if you are indeed (true) believers. 139 If a wound has befallen you a similar wound has already befallen the people who are opposed to you. We make such movements to men in turn so that Allah might mark out those who are the true men of faith and select from among you those who do really bear witness (to the Truth): for Allah does not love the wrong-doers, 140 Allah's object also is to purge those that are true in Faith and to deprive of blessing Those that resist Faith. 141 Do you think that you will enter Paradise before Allah tests those of you who fought (in His Cause) and (also) tests those who are As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)? 142 You certainly wished to die (for the cause of God) before you actually faced death. Then you faced death (in the battlefield and only a few of you had the true desire to die). 143
