(Moses) said: "O my Lord! expand me my breast; 25 And make my affair easy to me, 26 And untie the knot from my tongue 27 “In order that they may understand my speech.” 28 Appoint for me a henchman from my folk, 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 Strengthen my back by him, 31 “And make him a partner in my task.” 32 “In order that we may profusely proclaim Your Purity.” 33 and remember Thee without cease! 34 Verily Thou! Thou art of us ever a Beholder. 35 He said: surely thou art granted thy petition, O Musa! 36 “And indeed We had bestowed upon you a favour one more time.” 37 Recall, when We indicated to your mother through inspiration: 38 “That, ‘Put him into a chest and cast it into the river, so the river shall deposit it on to a shore – therefore one who is an enemy to Me and you, shall pick him up’; and I bestowed upon you love from Myself; and for you to be brought up in My sight.” 39 [And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses. 40 And I formed thee for Myself. 41 go therefore, thou and thy brother; with My signs, and neglect not to remember Me. 42 Go both to Firon, surely he has become inordinate; 43 "But speak to him mildly; perchance he may take warning or fear (Allah)." 44 Both said: O our Lord! Surely we fear that he may hasten to do evil to us or that he may become inordinate. 45 He said, “Do not fear – I am with you, All Hearing and All Seeing.” 46 So go you both to Pharaoh, and say, "We are the Messengers of thy Lord, so send forth with us the Children of Israel and chastise them not; we have brought thee a sign from thy Lord; and peace be upon him who follows the guidance! 47 It is revealed to us that those who call our message a lie or turn away from it will face the torment." 48 (Pharaoh) said: Who then is the Lord of you twain, O Moses? 49 He said: Our Lord is He Who gave unto everything its nature, then guided it aright. 50 Pharaoh asked: "Then, what is the state of the former generations?" 51 Moses said, "My Lord alone has knowledge of that, recorded in a Book. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 Who made the earth for you an expanse and made for you therein paths and sent down water from the cloud; then thereby We have brought forth many species of various herbs. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle; most surely there are signs in this for those endowed with understanding. 54
