The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers; 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 And who keep aloof from what is vain, 3 who give charity, 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 (but whosoever seeks after more than that, those are the transgressors) 7 And those who keep proper regard for their trusts and their pledges. 8 and those who observe their prayers. 9 and who are steadfast in their prayer. 10 Heirs of Paradise, they shall abide in it forever. 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. 13 Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators. 14 After that, at length ye will die 15 and then on the Day of Resurrection you shall certainly be raised up. 16 We have created seven paths above you; We have never been unmindful of Our creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure and lodged it in the earth, but if We please, We have the power to take it away, 18 And by means of this [water] We bring forth for you gardens of date-palms and vines, wherein you have fruit abundant and whereof you eat, 19 And also a tree that springeth forth from mount Sinai, that groweth oil and is a sauce for the eaters. 20 And Verily! In the cattle there is indeed a lesson for you. We give you to drink (milk) of that which is in their bellies. And there are, in them, numerous (other) benefits for you, and of them you eat. 21 And upon them and on ships you are carried. 22
