[AND the tribe of] Thamud gave the lie to [one of God's] message-hearers 141 Behold, their brother Salih said to them: "Will you not fear (Allah)? 142 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 143 Have fear of God and obey me. 144 And I ask of you no hire therefor; MY hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 145 Shall ye be left secure in that which is here before us. 146 In these gardens and these springs, 147 "And corn-fields and date-palms with spathes near breaking (with the weight of fruit)? 148 “And you carve out dwellings in the mountains, with skill?” 149 Have fear of God and obey me. 150 and do not follow the biddings of those that go to excesses 151 Who make mischief in the land and do not act aright. 152 They said, 'Thou art merely one of those that are bewitched; 153 You are nothing but a man like us. Bring us a token if you speak the truth." 154 He said, "This is a she-camel. For her is a [time of] drink, and for you is a [time of] drink, [each] on a known day. 155 “And do not touch her with evil intentions for the punishment of the Great Day will seize you.” 156 But they killed her, and then they became regretful. 157 So the chastisement seized them. Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 158 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 159

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
