The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is, at its occurrence, no denial. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 when the earth will suddenly shake with a terrible shaking, 4 and the mountains are totally shattered and crumble to pieces 5 so that they become as scattered dust 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 And those on the Left Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Record in their left hands), Who will be those on the Left Hand? (As a disgrace for them, because they will enter Hell). 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 They shall be the nearest to God. 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 and a lesser number from the later generations. 14 They will recline on jewelled couches 15 reclining upon them, set face to face, 16 There wait on them immortal youths 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication: 19 And with fruit from that which they choose. 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 The like of the hidden pearls: 23 [And this will be] a reward for what they did [in life]. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 And those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] 29 Lengthened shadows, 30 And water flowing constantly, 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 Neither out of reach nor yet forbidden, 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 We have created maidens perfectly 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 chastely amorous, 37 For those on the Right Hand. 38
