Al-Qalam 2 of 2
Surely, the cautious shall have Gardens of Bliss with their Lord. 34 Shall We treat the Muslims like criminals? 35 What is the matter with you? How judge you? 36 Or have ye a book through which ye learn- 37 That indeed for you is whatever you choose? 38 Or have you received a solemn promise, binding on Us till Resurrection Day, that yours will assuredly be whatever you judge [to be your rightful due]? 39 Ask them, which of them will guarantee that! 40 Or have they "partners"? Then let them bring their "partners" if they are truthful! 41 Upon the day when the leg shall be bared, and they shall be summoned to bow themselves, but they cannot; 42 With lowered eyes, disgrace overcoming them; and indeed they used to be called to prostrate themselves whilst they were healthy. 43 So leave those who deny this Discourse to Me. We shall lead them step by step to (ruin) in a way they will not know. 44 I am giving them a respite. Great is My scheme! 45 Do you demand some recompense from them that would weigh them down with debt? 46 Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down? 47 So be patient with the judgement of your Lord and do not be like the Companion of the Whale (Jonah), when he called out choking inwardly. 48 and who cried (for help) to his Lord, while imprisoned and helpless inside the fish. Had it not been for a favor from his Lord, he would have been left out in the open, deserving blame for his shortcomings. 49 But his Lord chose him and placed him among the righteous. 50 But the unbelievers would like to stare you out of balance when they hear the warning, and say: "Surely he is possessed;" 51 But it is not except a reminder to the worlds. 52

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
