Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The true event! 1 What is the Inevitable? 2 Would that you knew (in detail) what the Inevitable is! 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Aad belied the Striking Day. 4 The Thamuds were destroyed by a violent blast of sound. 5 And as for A'ad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind, 6 that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. 10 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship 11 That We might make it a memorial for you, and that remembering ears (that heard the story) might remember. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound one blast 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. 16 On its fringes will be angels, eight of them, bearing their Lord's throne aloft. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 On that Day, he whose Record is given to him in his right hand will say: “Lo! Read my Record! 19 "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 in a lofty garden, 22 Clusters whereof shall be near at hand. 23 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by. 24 But as for him who is given his book in his left hand, he shall say, 'Would that I had not been given my book 25 and neither known this my account! 26 Would it had been the end! 27 My wealth has not availed me, 28 and my authority has vanished.” 29 Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 and he never urged the feeding of the needy; 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 which only the sinners will eat.” 37
