The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 arise, and warn! 2 And proclaim the Purity of your Lord. 3 And thine raiment purify. 4 Pollution shun! 5 And do not favour others in order to receive more. 6 and be patient unto thy Lord. 7 When the Horn is blown, 8 that will surely be a hard day, 9 Not easy upon the disbelievers. 10 Leave him to Me, the one whom I created single. 11 And gave him vast wealth. 12 and children as [love's] witnesses, 13 and made all things smooth for him; 14 Then he desires that I should add more. 15 Nay! For lo! he hath been stubborn to Our revelations. 16 I will make a distressing punishment overtake him. 17 Surely he reflected and guessed, 18 And woe to him! How he plotted!- 19 Again, death seized him, how was his determining! 20 Then looked he, 21 frowned and scowled, 22 Then he turned back and was big with pride, 23 And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others]. 24 Nothing more than the speech of a man!" 25 Him shall I fling unto the burning. 26 And what have you understood, what hell is! 27 It shall not spare, nor leave. 28 It strips away the hide of man. 29 there are nineteen [angels] in charge of it -- 30 And We have set none but angels as guardians of the Fire, and We have fixed their number (19) only as a trial for the disbelievers, in order that the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) may arrive at a certainty [that this Quran is the truth as it agrees with their Books i.e. their number (19) is written in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] and the believers may increase in Faith (as this Quran is the truth) and that no doubts may be left for the people of the Scripture and the believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease (of hypocrisy) and the disbelievers may say: "What Allah intends by this (curious) example?" Thus Allah leads astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none can know the hosts of your Lord but He. And this (Hell) is nothing else than a (warning) reminder to mankind. 31
