Nay, and by the moon, 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 As a warning unto men, 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 Except those of the right hand 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 From the guilty. 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 Nay, but they do not [believe in and hence, do not] fear the life to come. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
