The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER the bright morning hours, 1 And by the Night when it is still,- 2 Thy Guardian-Lord hath not forsaken thee, nor is He displeased. 3 And indeed the latter is better for you than the former. 4 And soon will your Lord give you so that you shall be well pleased. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and then gave you shelter? 6 And He found you lost and guided [you], 7 Did He not find you in want, and make you free from want? 8 Therefore, treat not the orphan with oppression, 9 And as for him who asks, do not chide (him), 10 and as for thy Lord's blessing, declare it. 11
