The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 Recall, when their brother Lot said to them: "Have you no fear? 161 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 162 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 163 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 164 "Must you, of all people, [lustfully] approach men, 165 leaving your wives that your Lord created for you? Nay, but you are a people of transgressors. 166 They said, "Lot, if you do not give up preaching, you will certainly be expelled (from this town)". 167 He said, "I certainly hate what you practice. 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 Except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind. 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 And We rained on them a rain (of torment). And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned. 173 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
