Indeed We sent Moses with Our Signs to Pharaoh and his nobles. He told them: “I am a Messenger of the Lord of the Universe.” 46 But when he brought to them Our signs they laughed at them, 47 And all the signs We showed them were always greater than the earlier ones; and We seized them with calamities, so that they may return. 48 And they said: magician! supplicate thy Lord for us for that which He hath covenanted with thee; verily we shall let ourselves be guided. 49 So when We averted the calamity from them, they immediately broke the promise! 50 And Pharaoh issued a call to his people, saying: "O my people! Does not the dominion over Egypt belong to me, since all these running waters flow at my feet? Can you not, then, see [that I am your lord supreme]? 51 Am I (not) better than him who is contemptible, and cannot even express himself clearly? 52 Why then have bracelets of gold not been cast on him, or angels not come with him conjoined?' 53 Thus he incited his people to levity, and they obeyed him: for, behold, they were people depraved! 54 So when they angered Us, We punished them, and drowned them all. 55 We made them a precedent, an example for later peoples. 56

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
