The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 arise and give warning! 2 And your Lord glorify 3 And your garments purify! 4 shun uncleanness; 5 And bestow not favors that you may receive again with increase, 6 and persevere for your Lord's sake. 7 So when the Trumpet will be blown. 8 That will be- that Day - a Day of Distress,- 9 Dolorous for the unbelievers. 10 LEAVE Me alone [to deal] with him whom I have created alone, 11 and to whom I have granted resources vast, 12 And sons dwelling in his presence, 13 And for whom I smoothed everything. 14 After all that he desires that I should give more; 15 By no means! surely he offers opposition to Our communications. 16 [and so] I shall constrain him to endure a painful uphill climb! 17 For lo! he did consider; then he planned - 18 and thus he destroys himself, the way he meditates: 19 Again, ruin seize him, how did he hatch a scheme? 20 Then he looked, 21 Then frowned he and scowled. 22 Then he turned back and was big with pride, 23 Then he said: This is naught but enchantment, narrated (from others); 24 This is not but the word of a human being." 25 I will surely roast him in the Scorching. 26 And what do you know what Hell is? 27 It shall not spare, nor leave. 28 it scorches the skin; 29 Over it are nineteen (guards). 30 We have appointed only angels to be wardens of the Fire, and their number have We made to be a stumbling-block for those who disbelieve; that those to whom the Scripture hath been given may have certainty, and that believers may increase in faith; and that those to whom the Scripture hath been given and believers may not doubt; and that those in whose hearts there is disease, and disbelievers, may say: What meaneth Allah by this similitude? Thus Allah sendeth astray whom He will, and whom He will He guideth. None knoweth the hosts of thy Lord save Him. This is naught else than a Reminder unto mortals. 31
