NAY, but consider the moon! 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 Warn the men. 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 From the guilty. 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 Till death overtook us. 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 as though they were frightened wild asses, 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Never so, as this is a reminder. 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
