The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 shall call for destruction 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Behold, [in his earthly life] he lived joyfully among people of his own kind 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 [even thus, O men,] are you bound to move; onward from stage to stage. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
