Thus did We deliver the Children of Israel from the humiliating chastisement, 30 and from the Pharaoh. He was the chief of the transgressors. 31 And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds. 32 And gave signs to them in which there was a clear trial. 33 Even then they say: 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring us our fathers, if you speak truly!' 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those afore them? We destroyed them; verily they were culprits. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, for mere play, 38 We did not create them save with a purpose, yet most people have no knowledge of this. 39 Verily, the Day of Judgement (when Allah will judge between the creatures) is the time appointed for all of them, 40 The Day when no relation will avail a relation at all, nor will they be helped - 41 except for those to whom God grants mercy. He is Majestic and All-merciful. 42
