Thamud denied the warning 23 For they said: "What! a man! a Solitary one from among ourselves! shall we follow such a one? Truly should we then be straying in mind, and mad! 24 Has the Reminder been cast upon him alone among us? Nay, rather he is an impudent liar.' 25 "Tomorrow they will know who is the impudent liar! 26 For We will send the she-camel by way of trial for them. So watch them, (O Salih), and possess thyself in patience! 27 And inform them that the water is shared between them, each [day of] drink attended [by turn]. 28 Then they called their comrade, and he took in hand, and hamstrung her. 29 How terrible was My punishment and warning. 30 We sent upon them a single blast of sound and they were left like hay to be used by the cattle. 31 And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth? 32 The people of Lut denied the Noble Messengers. 33 Indeed, We sent upon them a storm of stones, except the family of Lot - We saved them before dawn 34 through Our Mercy. So it is that We recompense the thankful. 35 And assuredly he had warned them of Our grasp, but: they doubted the warnings. 36 They demanded that he turn over his guests to them. We struck their faces, blinded them and said, "Suffer Our torment of which you were warned". 37 And verily, an abiding torment seized them early in the morning. 38 "Taste, then, the suffering which I inflict when My warnings are disregarded!" 39 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition; is there then any one who would be admonished. 40
