The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And by those who float in space, 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
