The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Woe to Al-Mutaffifin [those who give less in measure and weight (decrease the rights of others)], 1 Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from men take it fully, 2 Whereas when they give others after measuring or weighing, they give them less! 3 What! Do they not expect that they will be raised? 4 on a fateful Day. 5 The day all mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds? 6 No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen. 7 And what do you know, how (wretched) the Sijjeen is! 8 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed. 9 Woe on that day to the rejecters, 10 Who give the lie to the day of judgment. 11 Yet none gives the lie to it except the transgressor immersed in sin; 12 When our signs are recited to him, he says, 'Fairy-tales of the ancients!' 13 No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning. 14 No indeed, on that Day they shall be veiled from their Lord. 15 and then, behold, they shall enter the blazing fire 16 and it will be said to them: 'This is that which you belied' 17 Nay! Most surely the record of the righteous shall be in the Iliyin. 18 What could let you know what the 'Illiyoon is! 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 witnessed by those brought nigh. 21 The virtuous will live in bliss, 22 (reclining) upon couches they will gaze, 23 Thou wilt know in their faces the radiance of delight. 24 They are given to drink of a pure wine, sealed, 25 The last of it is musk. So for this let the competitors compete. 26 And it is mixed with Tasneem. 27 A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink. 28 Lo! the guilty used to laugh at those who believed, 29 When passing by them, they would wink at one another 30 and when they returned to their people they returned blithely, 31 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". 32 And withal, they have no call to watch over [the beliefs of] others... 33 Wherefore Today, those who believed at the infidels are laughing, 34 On high couches, gazing. 35 Did not the disbelievers get repaid for what they used to do? 36
