(Moses) said: My Lord! relieve my mind 25 And ease my task for me; 26 Remove the defect of my tongue 27 so that they might fully understand my speech, 28 “And appoint for me a viceroy from among my family.” 29 Aaron my brother 30 To strengthen me 31 and let him share my task 32 so that [together] we might abundantly extol Thy limitless glory 33 and remember Thee without cease! 34 You are surely seeing us' 35 He replied: 'Moses, your request is granted. 36 And We had already conferred favor upon you another time, 37 "Behold! We sent to thy mother, by inspiration, the message: 38 "Saying: 'Put him (the child) into the Tabut (a box or a case or a chest) and put it into the river (Nile), then the river shall cast it up on the bank, and there, an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his shall take him.' And I endued you with love from Me, in order that you may be brought up under My Eye, 39 [And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses. 40 for I have chosen thee for Mine Own service. 41 Go you and your brother with My communications and be not remiss in remembering Me; 42 Go ye twain unto Fir'awn, verily he hath waxen exorbitant, 43 "But speak to him mildly; perchance he may take warning or fear (Allah)." 44 'O our Lord' both said, 'We fear lest he may be excessive against us or become insolent' 45 The Lord replied them, "Do not be afraid; I Am with you all the time, listening and seeing." 46 So, go to him, and say: 'Behold, both of us are the Messengers of your Lord. Let the Children of Israel go with us, and do not chastise them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord; and peace shall be for him who follows the true guidance. 47 Surely it has been revealed to us that the chastisement will surely come upon him who rejects and turns back. 48 The Pharaoh asked them, "Who is your Lord?" 49 He replied: "Our Sustainer is He who gives unto every thing [that exists] its true nature and form, and thereupon guides it [towards its fulfilment]. 50 Pharaoh said, 'And what of the former generations?' 51 Moses said, "My Lord alone has knowledge of that, recorded in a Book. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 It is He who has laid out the earth for you and traced routes in it and sent down water from the sky. We have brought forth every sort of plant with it, 53 Eat, and graze your cattle; indeed in this are signs for people of intellect. 54
