Hizb 46
< random >
Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 When he fled on the laden ship, 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was among the losers, 141 [and they cast him into the sea,] whereupon the great fish swallowed him, for he had been blameworthy. 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 He would have tarried in the belly thereof till the Day when they are raised. 144 ۞ We cast him out of the fish unto dry land and he was sick. 145 and caused a gourd tree to grow over him, 146 We sent him as a messenger to a hundred thousand people or more, 147 So they accepted faith We therefore gave them usage for a while. 148 Then ask them whether your Lord has daughters and they have sons. 149 Or that have We created the angels as females, while they were present? 150 Now surely it is of their own lie that they say: 151 "Allah has begotten off spring or children (i.e. angels are the daughters of Allah)?" And, verily, they are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What is [wrong] with you? How do you make judgement? 154 What, will you not remember? 155 Or have you received some clear authority? 156 Then produce your scripture, if you should be truthful. 157 And they have invented a kinship between Him and the jinns, but the jinns know well that they have indeed to appear (before Him) (i.e. they will be brought for accounts). 158 Glory be to Allah (for freedom) from what they describe; 159 Not thus, however, [behave] God's true servants: 160 neither you nor what you worship 161 shall not be able to tempt anyone away from Allah 162 Save him who is to burn in hell. 163 As for us, there is none but has an appointed station. 164 "And we are truly those who stand in rows, 165 And we are most surely they who declare the glory (of Allah). 166 They say, 167 Had we but an admonition as had the ancients. 168 “We would certainly be the chosen bondmen of Allah.” 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the apostles: 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 and Our armies shall be the victors. 173 So, (O Prophet), leave them alone for a while, 174 And watch them and they shall see (the punishment)! 175 What! would they then hasten on Our chastisement? 176 Then when it descendeth unto them face to face, a hapless morn that shall be for those who were warned. 177 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from them, 178 And see, for they are going to see. 179 Glory be to your Lord: the Lord of Glory is far above what they attribute to Him. 180 Peace be with the Messengers (of God). 181 and all praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe. 182
Almighty God's Truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
