Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
