Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 excusing or warning, 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 for an appointed term? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
