The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ TRULY, to a happy state shall attain the believers: 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 And they who turn away from ill speech 3 and at almsgiving are active 4 And who guard their private parts, 5 Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; 6 But those who covet more than this will be transgressors; 7 and who are faithful to their trusts and to their pledges, 8 And who pay heed to their prayers. 9 These are the real gainers, 10 Who shall inherit the Firdaus (Paradise). They shall dwell therein forever. 11 And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay. 12 and then We cause him to remain as a drop of sperm in [the wombs] firm keeping, 13 and then We create out of the drop of sperm a germ-cell, and then We create out of the germ-cell an embryonic lump, and then We create within the embryonic lump bones, and then We clothe the bones with flesh - and then We bring [all] this into being as a new creation: hallowed, therefore, is God, the best of artisans! 14 Thereafter you are destined to die, 15 and be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We have created seven paths above you; We have never been unmindful of Our creation. 17 And we send down from the sky water in measure, and We give it lodging in the earth, and lo! We are Able to withdraw it. 18 Then We produced for you therewith gardens of palms and vines wherein are many fruits for you, and of them you eat, 19 also a tree growing on Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat it. 20 There is a lesson for you concerning cattle. We provide you with drink from their bellies and many other benefits. You can consume them as meat. 21 You are carried by the animals on land and by the ships in the sea. 22
