The dwellers of the forest also rejected the messengers. 176 When Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 177 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 178 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 179 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and be not of those who cause others to lose. 181 Weigh with correct scales: 182 And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption. 183 "And fear Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old." 184 They said, “You are under a magic spell.” 185 You are but a man like ourselves, and indeed, we think you are among the liars. 186 Therefore cause a portion of the heaven to come down upon us, if you are one of the truthful. 187 Answered [Shu'ayb]: "My Sustainer knows fully well what you are doing." 188 In response they denied him – therefore the punishment of the day of the tent* seized them; that was indeed a punishment of a Great Day. (The clouds formed a tent and rained fire upon them). 189 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 190 And most surely your Lord is Mighty, the Merciful. 191
