The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 Created man, 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 Lord of the two easts and of the two wests is He. 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 25
