The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
