The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, 3 Who taught by the pen - 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 A servant when he prays? 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 and enjoins piety? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
