The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those [angels] who range themselves in close ranks 1 And so are strong in repelling (evil), 2 And those who read (the Word) for a reminder, 3 surely, your God is One, 4 the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, and the Sustainer of all the points of sunrise! 5 We have decked the lower heavens with stars 6 And to protect it from every rebellious devil. 7 they listen not to the High Council, for they are pelted from every side, 8 rejected, and theirs is an everlasting chastisement, 9 Except one who snatches [some words] by theft, but they are pursued by a burning flame, piercing [in brightness]. 10 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Are they a stronger creation, or are other things of our creation, (the angels, the heavens etc.)?” We have indeed created them from sticky clay. 11 Truly dost thou marvel, while they ridicule, 12 When they are reminded, they do not remember. 13 and when they see a miracle, they mock 14 and say: 'This is nothing but clear sorcery' 15 When we have become dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then verily be raised? 16 And so also shall our forefathers of yore be raised to life?” 17 Tell them: “Yes; and you are utterly helpless (against Allah).” 18 It will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e. the second blowing of the Trumpet)], and behold, they will be staring! 19 and they will say: 'Woe for us. This is the Day of Recompense' 20 (A voice will say,) "This is the Day of Sorting Out, whose truth ye (once) denied!" 21
