Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the Indubitable? 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Beholdest thou any of them remaining? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord – so He seized them with an intense seizure. 10 When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, 11 In order to make it a warning for you, and that the ear retentive may preserve it. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 Then on that Day shall the (Great) Event befall, 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, 16 and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… 17 On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. 18 Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! 19 Certainly I thought that I should encounter my reckoning.' 20 So he shall have an agreeable life 21 in a lofty Garden, 22 the clusters of whose fruit will be hanging low to be within reach (of the inmates of Paradise). 23 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past." 24 But as for him who is given his book in his left hand, he shall say, 'Would that I had not been given my book 25 And had not known what is my account. 26 Oh! Would that the death that came to me in the world had made an end of me! 27 Of no use was even my wealth. 28 I am bereft of power." 29 [Thereupon the command will go forth:] "Lay hold of him, and shackle him, 30 Then into Hellfire drive him. 31 And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. 32 Verily he was wont not to believe in Allah, the Mighty. 33 nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, 36 that none but sinners eat' 37
