The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 And the second followeth it, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 While eyes are downcast 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
