(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 and gives a little, grudgingly? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 Then covered them with that which covered them. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
