Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
