The Companions of the Rocky Tract also rejected the messengers: 80 And We gave them Our communications, but they turned aside from them; 81 And they were hewing out houses from mountains feeling secure. 82 the blast overtook them early one morning. 83 And all that they had done (for security) availed them nothing. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, save in truth. Surely the Hour is coming; so pardon thou, with a gracious pardoning. 85 Surely your Lord is the Creator of all things, the Knowing. 86 And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an. 87 Strain not thine eyes. (Wistfully) at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them, nor grieve over them: but lower thy wing (in gentleness) to the believers. 88 And say: "I am indeed a plain warner." 89 (Of a punishment) Like the one We sent down upon the dividers. 90 Those who have made the scripture bits. 91 Therefore, by your Lord, We shall question every one of them. 92 As to what they did. 93 Promulgate thou that which thou art commanded, and turn away from the associaters. 94 verily, We shall suffice thee against all who [now] deride [this message - all] 95 who assert that there are, side by side with God, other divine powers as well: for in time they will come to know [the truth]. 96 We certainly know that their statements sorely grieve you. 97 But you should glorify your Lord with praises, and be among those who bow in submission; 98 Worship your Lord until you achieve the ultimate certainty. 99
