On the Day when every soul will come disputing for itself, and every soul will be fully compensated for what it did, and they will not be wronged. 111 God makes an example of a town that was secure and at ease, with provisions coming to it abundantly from every quarter. Then it showed ingratitude for God's blessings and God afflicted it with hunger and fear because of what they did. 112 And assuredly there came to them an apostle from among them, but they belied him, wherefore the torment took hold of them while yet they were wrong-doers. 113 So eat out of the lawful and good sustenance that Allah has bestowed upon you, and thank Allah for His bounty, if it is Him that you serve. 114 The only things which are made unlawful for you are the flesh of dead animals, blood, pork and that which is not consecrated with the Name of God. But in an emergency, without the intention of transgression and rebellion, (it is not an offense for one to consume such things). God is certainly All-forgiving and All-merciful. 115 And say not concerning that which your tongues put forth falsely: "This is lawful and this is forbidden," so as to invent lies against Allah. Verily, those who invent lies against Allah will never prosper. 116 A brief enjoyment (will be theirs); and theirs a painful doom. 117 We had made unlawful for the Jews all that we told you before. We did not do any wrong to them but they wronged themselves. 118 Surely, your Lord is most forgiving and ever merciful towards those who do evil in ignorance and truly repent thereafter and make amends. 119
