Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 and gives a little, grudgingly? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 That no soul laden bears the load of another, 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 that He it is Who destroyed the ancient 'Ad, 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Stars (Al-Najm). Sent down in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
