Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were joined together as one united piece, then We parted them? And We have made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe? 30 And We have placed on the earth firm mountains, lest it should shake with them, and We placed therein broad highways for them to pass through, that they may be guided. 31 And We made the sky a protected ceiling, but they, from its signs, are turning away. 32 It is He Who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. Each of them is floating in its orbit. 33 We made no mortal before you immortal. Will they become immortal after you die? 34 Every soul will know the taste of death. We tempt you with evil and with good as a trial; and to Us you will return. 35 When the unbelievers see you they make you an object of fun, saying: "Is he the one who mentions your gods?" They say so, and yet they reject with disdain the very mention of the Most Compassionate Lord. 36 Man was created of haste. I will show you My signs, so do not impatiently urge Me. 37 Yet they say: "When will the promised threat come to pass, if you speak the truth?" 38 If those who disbelieved but knew the time when they will not be able to drive off the fire from their faces and from their backs, and they will not be helped! 39 Nay, it (the Fire or the Day of Resurrection) will come upon them all of a sudden and will perplex them, and they will have no power to avert it, nor will they get respite. 40 And indeed, [O Muhammad, even] before thy time have [God's] apostles been derided - but those who scoffed at them were [in the end] overwhelmed by the very thing which they had been wont to deride. 41
