The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Blissful are the believers 1 Those who in their prayer are lowly. 2 And who keep aloof from what is vain, 3 and who are intent on inner purity; 4 who strictly guard their private parts 5 except with their wives and what their right hand possess, and then they are not blamed. 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors; 7 who are true to their trusts and their covenants, 8 and those who observe their prayers. 9 These will be the heirs, 10 that shall inherit Paradise; and in it they shall abide for ever. 11 And indeed We created man (Adam) out of an extract of clay (water and earth). 12 Then We placed him as (a drop of) sperm in a place of rest, firmly fixed; 13 We then turned the drop of fluid into a clot of blood, then the clot into a small lump of flesh, then the lump into bones, then covered the bones with flesh; then developed it in a different mould; therefore Most Auspicious is Allah, the Best Creator. 14 Then after that you shall surely die, 15 Then you will be raised up again on the Resurrection Day. 16 And indeed We have created above you seven heavens (one over the other), and We are never unaware of the creation. 17 We have sent a measure of water from the sky to stay on earth and We have the power to take it away. 18 With it, We produced for you gardens of palms and vines, yielding abundant fruit for you to eat. 19 And [We brought forth] a tree issuing from Mount Sinai which produces oil and food for those who eat. 20 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; 21 And on them and on the ship ye are carried. 22
