Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
