The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
