No, by the moon! 32 and the night when it retreats 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 A warning to mankind, 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 except those of the right hand 39 in Gardens they will question 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 As if they were affrighted asses, 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
