Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By oath of those that are sent, one after the other. (The verses of the Holy Qur’an or the angels or the winds). 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 for an appointed term? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
