Relate the news of Abraham to them. 69 When he said to his father and his people: What do you worship? 70 They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted." 71 He asked them, "Can the idols hear you when you pray to them 72 'Can they benefit you or harm you' 73 They said, "No, but our fathers worshipped them." 74 He said, “Do you see these – (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 You and your ancient forefathers? 76 Yet they are my enemies except the Lord of all the worlds 77 He created me and He will guide me. 78 Who gives me food and drink, 79 And heals me when I am sick, 80 He who will cause me to die and bring me back to life; 81 And who, I hope, will condone my faults on the Day of Judgement. 82 My Lord, give me Judgment, and join me with the righteous, 83 And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. 84 and place me among those who shall inherit the garden of bliss! 85 and forgive my father, for he is one of those astray. 86 “And do not disgrace me on the day when everyone will be raised.” 87 the Day when nothing will avail, neither wealth nor offspring, 88 “Except he who presented himself before Allah, with a sound* heart.” (Intact or unblemished.) 89 And Paradise will be brought close for the pious. 90 And the hell shall be made manifest to the erring ones, 91 And it shall be said to them: Where are those that you used to worship; 92 Other than God? Can they save you or even save themselves?" 93 So they shall be thrown down into it, they and the erring ones, 94 and the hosts of Iblis - all together. 95 They shall say, as they dispute there one with another, 96 'By Allah, we were certainly in clear error, 97 “When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.” 98 It is none but those steeped in guilt who led us into this error, 99 We have no intercessors now, 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 "'Now if we only had a chance of return we shall truly be of those who believe!'" 102 Verily in this is a Sign but most of them do not believe. 103 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104
