And when your Lord called out to Musa, saying: Go to the unjust people, 10 The people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh). Will they not fear Allah and become righteous?" 11 Moses replied, "My Lord, I fear they will reject me, 12 and "my breast is straitened and my tongue is not fluent; so send Aaron as well; 13 And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they will kill me. 14 Allah said: "By no means! proceed then, both of you, with Our Signs; We are with you, and will listen (to your call). 15 So go ye twain unto Fir'awn and say: verily we are the apostles of the Lord of the Worlds, 16 so send forth with us the Children of Israel." 17 Said Firaun, “Did we do not raise you amongst us, as a child? And you spent many years of your life among us!” 18 “And you committed the deed of yours that you committed, and you were ungrateful.” 19 He said: I did it then while I was of those unable to see the right course; 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord bestowed on me wisdom and made me one of the sent ones. 21 And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 Pharaoh said: And what is the Lord of the Worlds? 23 'He' (Moses) replied: 'is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you believe' 24 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said to those around: "Do you not hear (what he says)?" 25 [Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers." 26 Pharaoh said to the audience: "This Messenger of yours who has been sent to you is simply mad." 27 Musa (Moses) said: "Lord of the east and the west, and all that is between them, if you did but understand!" 28 Said he, 'If thou takest a god other than me, I shall surely make thee one of the imprisoned.' 29 Musa (Moses) said: "Even if I bring you something manifest (and convincing)?" 30 Said he: Bring it then, if you are of the truthful ones. 31 So Moses threw down his staff and suddenly it appeared as a serpent, plainly visible. 32 And he drew forth his hand, thereupon it shone bright before the beholders. 33
