Then came the time when the angels said: 'O Mary! Behold, Allah has chosen you, and made you pure, and exalted you above all the women in the world. 42 O Mary, be devoutly obedient to your Lord and prostrate and bow with those who bow [in prayer]." 43 (That is of the tidings of the Unseen, that We reveal to thee; for thou wast not with them, when they were casting quills which of them should have charge of Mary; thou wast not with them, when they were disputing.) 44 When the angels said, "O Mary, your Lord gives you good news of a Word from Him. His name is the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, honoured in this world and in the next and one of those who are granted nearness to God. 45 And he shall speak unto mankind from the cradle and in maturity; and be one of the righteous. 46 She said: "O my Lord! How shall I have a son when no man hath touched me?" He said: "Even so: Allah createth what He willeth: When He hath decreed a plan, He but saith to it, 'Be,' and it is! 47 He will teach him the Law and the judgement, and the Torah and the Gospel, 48 And an apostle unto the children of Israi'l with this message: verily I have come unto you with a sign from your Lord, verily I form for you out of clay as though the likeness of a bird and then I breathe thereunto, and a bird it becometh by Allah's command. And heal the blind from birth and the leprous and quicken the dead by Allah's command. And I declare unto you that which ye have eaten and that which ye have stored in your houses. Verily herein is a sign for you if ye are believers. 49 "I testify to what is true in the Torah and make lawful for you some of the things that were made unlawful. I have brought you a miracle from your Lord. Have fear of God and obey me. 50 Surely God is my Lord, and your Lord, so worship Him; and this is the right path. 51 ۞ When (Prophet) Jesus felt their disbelief, he said: 'Who will be my helpers in the way of Allah?' The disciples replied: 'We are the helpers of Allah. We believe in Allah. Bear witness that we are submitters (Muslims). 52 Lord, we have believed in what You sent down and followed the Messenger. Write us among Your witnesses' 53 But they (the unbelievers) contrived a plot, and God did the like; and God's plan is the best. 54
