In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 The living and the dead, 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
