Al-Inshiqaaq
The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 And by the moon when she is at the full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What, then, is amiss with them that they will not believe [in a life to come]? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
