The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 The piercing star! 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
