The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear God? 161 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, 165 And leave the wives your Lord created for you? Nay, but ye are froward folk. 166 They said: "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will be expelled (from the city)." 167 He said, 'Truly I am a detester of what you do. 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 So We delivered him and his followers all, 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 We rained upon them a rain, and evil is the rain (of stones) on those that are warned. 173 Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: 174 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 175
